A Week of Theatre, Music, and Cultural Encounters in the Heart of Roztocze

From August 3 to 10, 2025, the spa town of Horyniec‑Zdrój will once again become the artistic heart of Roztocze. This year’s Horyniec‑Zdrój Art Festival is themed “I Feel the Scent of the Universe”, quoting poet Jadwiga Stańczakowa, whose life and work inspired one of the festival’s central events.

 

 

Festival Highlights: Women’s Voices in Theatre & Art

The 2025 program spotlights female voices on stage, especially in the Horyniec Theatre / Women’s Theatre series, featuring renowned actresses and directors:

  • Irena Jun

  • Joanna Szczepkowska

  • Dorota Landowska

  • Katarzyna Dąbrowska

  • Agnieszka Przepiórska, celebrated for her moving biographical performances

Against the backdrop of summer evenings in the spa park, theatre will blend with music, spoken word, and visual art.

 

Music Line‑up

  • Piotr Cugowski Concert – the grand festival finale

  • Chopin on Strings featuring violinist Karol Dobrowolski

  • Leszek Żądło’s Jubilee Performance – celebrating 60 years of jazz artistry

  • “With Classical Music Across Poland” Project with pianist Julia Kociuban and violinist Janusz Wawrowski

 

Literary & Family Events

Daytime programming will include:

  • Author readings with Zośka Papużanka and Jakub Kornhauser, including a unique literary-bike tour through Roztocze

  • Morning literary–theatre sessions in the library

  • Art workshops led by illustrator Marianna Oklejak

  • Premiere of the youth theatre group Bez Nazwy’s play “30 Disappearing Trampolines”

 

A Festival of Encounters & Dialogue

The festival fosters intergenerational, interdisciplinary, and human connection through shared cultural experiences. Events take place in the amphitheatre, cultural centre, library, and open-air spaces around Horyniec‑Zdrój, creating a week-long community of culture, reflection, and inspiration.

Sunday, August 3 – Opening

Monday, August 4

  • 10:00 “Żaba (nie)śmieszka…”: creation of a radio play, followed by discussion with creators Maria Marcinkiewicz‑Górna & Piotr Skotnicki (Library)

  • 20:00 Kacper Kuszewski – Album rodzinny with pianist Tomasz Krezymon (Spa Park Amphitheatre)

 

Tuesday, August 5

  • 10:00 Family literary‑theatre morning with Szafa Kultury Foundation (Library)

  • 16:00 Other Film: radio play Inie Benicie, introduction by Maria Marcinkiewicz‑Górna (Culture Centre, tickets)

  • 20:00 Horyniec Theatre / Women’s Theatre: Katarzyna Dąbrowska in 13 randek DaNuty. Rinn – songs of love with ensemble (Spa Park Amphitheatre)
