6th Edition and Another Stop on the Subcarpathian Film Trail
Opening of the Subcarpathian Film Trail in Kolbuszowa
On the weekend of August 9–10, the Ethnographic Park of the Museum of Folk Culture in Kolbuszowa will become the stage for a unique event that combines film, history, folk culture, and great entertainment. The program includes film screenings, meetings with filmmakers, outdoor games, traditional craft workshops, and live concerts—all in the atmospheric surroundings of the open-air museum.
Saturday in Adamczycha – A Folk and Film Feast with Netflix
Saturday (August 9) will feature attractions inspired by the Netflix series "1670", set in 17th-century Poland.
Starting from 1:00 PM, there will be peasant-style games and contests such as the "Serf’s Run", “Worst Rider” contest, and traditional Polish bat-and-ball game (palant). Guests can also take part in historical craft workshops, including blacksmithing, pottery, embroidery, quill writing, and more.
As part of the Subcarpathian Film Trail project, two special film walks around Adamczycha will take place, alongside full screenings of all episodes of "1670", and a Q&A with the creators titled "How to Turn Mud into Gold."
The day concludes with a film quiz with prizes, a film music concert by Wowakin, and a lively folk dance party with live music.
Sunday Full of Film, Emotions, and Reflection
Sunday (August 10) will be dedicated to documentary cinema.
From 1:00 PM, a series of documentary films will be shown, including "Swój nieznany", "Z Andrusem po Galicji", and "Pol-in: Fragments of Memory." Viewers will have the chance to participate in talks with regional historians and filmmakers.
Additional attractions include film walks through the open-air museum and evening screenings of two major films:
-
"KOS" directed by Paweł Maślona (2024),
-
"Volhynia" (Wołyń) by Wojciech Smarzowski (2016),
Each preceded by a meeting with the filmmakers.
Relaxation, Culture, and Free Transport
Throughout the weekend, a relaxation zone by the pond will be available, along with traditional boat rides on a flisak barge.
Free shuttle bus service between the train station and the museum will be provided for attendees.
