Peatlands on Walkways in Tarnawa Wyżna (with a stop at the Jeleniowaty Tower)

Start: Tarnawa Peatlands Parking

Duration: 1 hour

Length: shorter path: 600 m, longer path: 1800 m

Marking: green trail

This is an incredibly fascinating place, perfect for those seeking tranquility in a picturesque setting. The trail is free of obstacles, making it an excellent choice for families with children. A walk on specially prepared walkways will allow you to discover the charms of the peatlands divided into two parts, separated by a parking lot.

While exploring the Tarnawa Peatlands, it's worth diversifying your trip a bit. Passing through Muczne, you can stop for a hike to the Jeleniowaty lookout tower.

Start: Muczne Forestry Promotion Center – Jeleniowaty Lookout Tower – Muczne Forestry Promotion Center

Duration: 1 hour

Length: 3 km

Marking: red trail

The shortest way to reach the tower is via the red trail. This way, you can quickly enjoy the amazing views of the Bieszczady peaks. The panorama visible here is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful in the Bieszczady. You can see: Tarnica, Halicz, Bukowe Berdo, and the Połoniny. However, this is a steeper variant. For those who prefer less demanding walks but longer contemplation of nature, we recommend the route through Brenzberg.

Trail to Duszatyn Lakes

Start: Komańcza – Prełuki – Duszatyn Lakes – Komańcza

Duration: 6 hours

Length: 19.2 km

Marking: red trail

An easy walk to the charming lakes hidden among the forest. Two water reservoirs created by nature itself. Due to the landslide of rock masses from a nearby peak, the soil blocked the stream's course, creating these picturesque lakes. Originally, there were three, but today only two remain. To protect this place, the "Zwiezło" Landscape Reserve was established.

You can start the walk in Komańcza. The trail mostly leads through the forest on a wide road. After prolonged rains, the road can be muddy. There are practically no demanding ascents on the route. However, if someone wants to feel tired, you can extend the walk to the summit of Chryszczata (998).

Trial to Łupków (cemetery, tunnel)

Start: Łupków Church – Łupków Pass – Łupków Church

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Length: 5 km

Marking: blue trail

It's worth starting the hike to the Łupków Pass in Stary Łupków, near the cemeteries (Greek Catholic and World War I). The most recognizable spot is the characteristic black figure of Christ embedded in a tree. The tunnel under the Łupków Pass, connecting two countries, built as part of the Hungarian-Galician railway, is of particular interest.

A very easy trail requiring no physical preparation. It's not a popular destination, so you shouldn't expect crowds here. This place is especially visited by history and technology enthusiasts.

Trial to Krywe Reserve and Tworylne

Start: Zatwarnica – Krywe, manor ruins – Zatwarnica

Duration: 5 hours 20 minutes

Length: 15.8 km

Marking: historical-nature trail "Przysłup Caryński - Krywe on the San" (red)

A proposal to discover the old and forgotten Bieszczady through this fascinating route, which leads through extremely valuable natural areas and deserted villages. Searching for traces of former inhabitants can be a real adventure, and the surrounding silence and peace will allow you to feel the truly wild Bieszczady.

The route does not require much physical preparation. However, you need to be very observant and watch for signs carefully. You can start your adventure in Zatwarnica, from where the red trail leads to the border of the Krywe nature reserve. There are ruins of a manor house. Returning via the blue trail, which later connects with the red trail, will allow you to discover the famous ruins of the church and diversify your trip.

If someone has the strength and desire to explore more, they can extend the trip. However, this will require good orientation skills. From the manor ruins in Krywe, you can go further along an unmarked path to Tworylne. There, in the area of the former village, many ruins have been preserved, including those of the manor house, stables, belfry with chapel, and German guardhouse. For this additional option (there and back), reserve another 3 hours and cover an additional 10 km.

Valley of the Rabski Stream

Start: Bridge over the Rabiański stream – Student Hut Huczwice – Bridge over the Rabiański stream

Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes

Length: 7 km

Marking: nature trail (green)

A very easy and pleasant route, requiring no physical preparation, also suitable for the youngest tourists. The trail is not long, but it can be varied by visiting several interesting places nearby.

The trail starts near the Bystre Recreation Center. It continues along the stream, so you will always be accompanied by its murmur. After about 30 minutes, you reach a road leading to the quarry. Here, besides the parking lot, the blue trail begins, leading to the viewpoint at the quarry (an additional 15-minute walk, 800 meters round trip). Continuing along the path, you face a slight uphill walk. However, it is very short, and the path soon descends again. Along the way, it's worth stopping by the blue trail leading to the charming Synarewo chapel with a miraculous spring. Next, we encourage you to visit the Gołoborze Nature Reserve, where more natural wonders await discovery.

The trails in the Bieszczady Mountains will provide you with many beautiful memories and experiences. However, don't forget to properly prepare for your hike. Make sure you have the right equipment, such as good trekking boots, a map, and provisions.

On many Bieszczady trails, you may also encounter wild animals, such as lynxes, which are a symbol of the Bieszczady. Remember to exercise caution and avoid getting too close to wild animals.
