Trail to Tarnica

Option I: Wołosate – Saddle under Tarnica – Tarnica – Saddle under Tarnica – Wołosate

Duration: 3 hours 10 minutes

Length: 8.8 km

Marking: blue/yellow trail

 

Option II: Wołosate – Saddle under Tarnica – Tarnica – Halicz – Rozsypaniec – Wołosate

Duration: 6 hours 15 minutes

Length: 19 km

Marking: blue/yellow/red trail

 

The trail to Tarnica is one of the most popular routes in the Bieszczady Mountains. It leads to the highest peak of these mountains – Tarnica, which reaches an altitude of 1346 meters. This trail is suitable for both beginners and more experienced hikers.

 

During your hike to Tarnica, you will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of the Bieszczady nature. The trail passes through dense forests, picturesque meadows, and rocky formations. At the summit of Tarnica, a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and vast expanses awaits you. You can return to Wołosate by the same trail, which is recommended for less seasoned tourists. However, if you have more strength and desire, you can return from Tarnica via the red trail through Halicz and Rozsypaniec.

Trail of Połonina Wetlińska

Start: Smerek – Orłowicz Pass – Chatka Puchatka – Smerek

Duration: 8 hours

Length: 23 km

Marking: red trail

 

The Połonina Wetlińska trail is a classic Bieszczady route that you must experience during your adventure in the Bieszczady. This trail offers breathtaking views of endless meadows, picturesque valleys, and murmuring rivers. It is suitable for both beginners and more experienced hikers. However, due to some steep sections, it is advisable to exercise caution and properly prepare for the hike.

 

Walking the entire ridge is an extraordinary hike. Połonina Wetlińska is, in fact, a mountain massif with several peaks. Climbing the first one, Smerek, takes just under 3 hours. Then begins the most interesting part of the hike along the meadows, slightly downhill, gently uphill, through more peaks and past the highest Roha (1255 m above sea level). At the end of the ridge is a cult place, the "Chatka Puchatka" tourist shelter.

 

 

 

Trail to Mała and Wielka Rawka and the Kremenaros Tripoint

Start: Wyżniańska Pass – Mała Rawka – Wielka Rawka – Kremenaros – Wyżniańska Pass

Duration: 4 hours 40 minutes

Length: 12.3 km

Marking: green/yellow/blue trail

 

This route offers a hike to popular peaks in the Bieszczady and the point where the borders of three countries meet. From both Mała and Wielka Rawka, the Bieszczady meadows are perfectly visible. The trail partially runs through wooded areas.

 

The first part of the trail is a pleasant walk. Reaching the PTTK shelter doesn't take long. However, soon after, you enter the forest and begin a more demanding ascent, probably the steepest on the entire trail. Overcoming it guarantees the first elevation – Mała Rawka. After that, it's just a short walk through a pass, and you are the conquerors of the next peak, Wielka Rawka. The trail leading to Kremenaros is much more forested.

Trail to Korbania

Start: Polanki Parking – Church in Łopienka – Korbania – Polanki Parking

Duration: 5 hours

Length: 14.4 km

Marking: nature trail (red and green)

 

A hike for all lovers of beautiful views. Its culmination will be a lookout tower with panoramic views. On the route, there's also the unique church in Łopienka, considered one of the most beautifully located in the Bieszczady. Along the way, you can also explore an outdoor exhibition on charcoal burning.

 

There is no tourist trail to Korbania from this side. However, you can reach the tower by first following the red, then the green walking path. The route is easy and pleasant. The only difficulty may arise at the end, during the ascent to the tower, which might tire less experienced hikers.

 

 

 

Sine Wiry Reserve

Start: Polanki Parking – Sine Wiry Reserve – Polanki Parking

Duration: 3 hours 10 minutes

Length: 11 km

Marking: no trail

 

A proposal for a walk in the Bieszczady nature, where surrounded by silence and tranquility, you can enjoy the sound of the Wetlinka River. The Sine Wiry Reserve is a place where nature amazes at every step. Starting the hike from Polanki, you will discover three viewpoints offering breathtaking views of picturesque rock thresholds.

 

The route through the reserve mostly leads through the forest. It is a very easy and pleasant walk. The path is mostly flat, with only slight elevations in some places, eventually descending again. There is no tourist trail here, but signposts will guide you from the parking lot, and later the path leads along the Wetlinka River.

The trails in the Bieszczady Mountains will provide you with many beautiful memories and experiences. However, don't forget to properly prepare for your hike. Make sure you have the right equipment, such as good trekking boots, a map, and provisions.

 

On many Bieszczady trails, you may also encounter wild animals, such as lynxes, which are a symbol of the Bieszczady. Remember to exercise caution and avoid getting too close to wild animals.
