THE BEST OUTDOOR EVENTS IN THE PODKARPACKIE

The long May weekend, summer time and holidays are coming. This is an excellent time to travel, not only for hiking trips. Here are events held across the Podkarpackie which can be enjoyed by everyone

 

BALLOONS OVER KROSNO

The largest outdoors event in the Podkarpackie, which takes pride in its aviation related traditions, attracts thousands of visitors each year. This is the only opportunity to see dozens of colourful balloons hovering above the rooftops of Krosno. You can also watch a paragliding competition, and admire acrobatics performed by air-show teams, historical flying machines and parachutists. Truly unique for its visual quality, Night Balloon Show will be an unforgettable experience for the audience.

MUSIC FESTIVAL IN ŁAŃCUT 

Music Festival in Łańcut is internationally recognised for its uniqueness; here classical music can be heard in the magnificent setting of the Ball Room and the picturesque park of the beautiful castle. This year again Łańcut will host performances of excellent singers and musicians. The status of the Festival in Łańcut is reflected by the well-known names of the artists featured in this year’s program: The King`S  Singers, Mara Dobresco, Andrei Kivu, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra.

RZEŹNIK RUNNING EVENT, Cisna

“Bieszczady Rzeźnik Race” is Poland’s most popular mountain running event. In the first days of June the Bieszczady will be taken over by extreme runners who are also enthusiastic about wild mountain meadows. During the event you can even run along a short distance of 11 km. There will be a number of races of varied distances, including 16th Rzeźnik Race, 5th Rzeźnik Race Ultra, ‘Dycha na Jeleni Skok’ Race. The itinerary of the main race leads to picturesque areas, with unforgettable views, e.g. from Mounts Chryszczata and Rabia Skała.

EAST OF CULTURE - EUROPEAN STADIUM OF CULTURE, Rzeszów 

East of Poland + East of Europe = East of Culture. The project promotes cooperation and encourages exploration of that which is unique in the cultures of Eastern Partnership countries. Towards the end of June hundreds of artists will come to Rzeszów, and the city will be transformed into a large and vibrant festival stage. The event will host a number of artistic projects, there will be concerts, exhibitions, workshops and the main concert at the Municipal Stadium.

FOLKOWISKO, Gorajec

“Folkowisko is a lovely event, unbiased, designed for ordinary people, held in an amazing place”, said Andrzej Stasiuk. This recommendation expressed by the writer, who appreciates the countryside for its simplicity and tranquillity, speaks for itself. The uniqueness of the festival, standing out among other folk events, results from the homely and friendly atmosphere and the genius loci of Chutor Gorajec, in the southern Roztocze Highland. This year the audience will enjoy performances of Żywiołak, Pablopavo, Sviatyj, Hańba

CIESZFANÓW ROCK FESTIVAL, Cieszanów

 

 

CRF is the largest rock music festival in the Podkarpackie, each year featuring concerts of artists known worldwide. Recognised by Machina magazine as number three among Polish summer music festivals, each year the event is attended by 20,000 music fans. Additional attraction is the location of the festival, which is held far from large cities, in a small town in the Roztocze Highlands. It has seen performances of such legendary bands as The Exploited and Vader. This year the program includes e.g. Luxtorpeda, Lao Che, Pidżama Porno and Dezerter.

INTERNATIONAL DAYS OF WINE, Jasło

Everyone knows that wine gets better with age; similarly the festival each year is becoming more and more popular. Located in the Podkarpackie Region known for the largest number of vineyards in Poland, Jasło is as the heart of the Wine Route, and it is a perfect place to enjoy the aromatic beverage. Because of the friendly atmosphere of meetings accompanied with a glass of wine this is a truly special event. At the Jasło Town Square you will be able to meet wine makers from all over Poland and from abroad. Delightful concerts will add to the atmosphere of the Bacchanalia.
