The castle of the Lubomirski family in Rzeszów was built in 1906 in the location of the former castle of the Lubomirski family

Zamek Lubomirskich w Rzeszowie

plac Śreniawitów 3

35-006 Rzeszów

HOW TO GET THERE

Foundations based on loess walls and bastions support a palazzo in fortezza type structure. This is a large, quadrilateral establishment with a courtyard in the middle and a tall gate tower on the western side. The castle is surrounded with stone fortifications and the walls are 5 metres tall.

During WWII the castle was used as a place of detention, where over one thousand prisoners of war sentenced to death awaited execution. The prison operated here until 1981. Later, during conservation works the great hall was restored and the old prison chapel was reconstructed.

Today the castle houses the Regional Court of Justice.
