Palace and Park Complex in Werynia is beautifully located amidst the Sandomierz Primeval Forest, in an area of ponds and marshlands
Situated on a small hill, it attracts attention with its amazing Art Nouveau architecture, typical for early twentieth century villas and urban townhouses.
The palace was built between 1900 and 1905 by Tadeusz Stryjeński and Franciszek Mączyński at a site of a former wooden neo-Classicist manor house dating from the 19th century. It is embellished with lush architectural decorations and a bas-relief of the white eagle in radiant glory resting on the owners’ coat of arms. The palace was integrated into a natural landscaped park, established in the second half of the 19th century. The park incorporates old stands of trees, consisting of ancient oaks, beech trees and pines, and features varied terrain as well as a number of ponds. A neo-Gothic manorial chapel dating from 1873 can be seen along the road leading to the town of Kolbuszowa.
