A meeting with classical music in the unique setting of the Łańcut Castle Museum.

The reputation of the festival can be confirmed by the excellent artists who have performed here such as Rafal Blechacz, Joseph Malovany, Mischa Maisky, Shlomo Minz, Andreas Scholl, Jose Carreras, Seta del Grande, Katia Ricciarelli and José Cura. The festival's repertoire included vocal recitals by famous singers, piano and violin recitals, great vocal and instrumental forms such as K. Penderecki's Polish Requiem, G. Verdi's Requiem and W.A. Mozart, concerts by renowned orchestras and chamber ensembles.

The formula of the festival far exceeds the scheme of classical music. At the Łańcut festival one could listen to concerts by Edyta Geppert, Leszek Możdżer, Stanisława Celińska, Kayah or the atmospheric bossa nova of Ive Mendes, who ended her concert by walking barefoot among the audience ;). The Music Festival in Lancut is also the venue for such Polish premieres as G. F. Telemann's "Mr. Pimpinon" (1966) and W.A. Mozart's "Bastien et Bastienne" (1967). The Festival featured opera performances, including the memorable "The Marriage of Figaro" by W.A. Mozart, directed by A. Hanuszkiewicz.

Music Festival in Łańcut - an attraction of Rzeszów and the surrounding area

The events of the Music Festival in Lancut also take place outside the grounds of the Castle in Lancut. Concerts have also been or are being held at the Podkarpackie Philharmonic, the synagogue in Lancut or the Basilica of the Bernardine Fathers in Lezajsk, where one of the world's largest antique bar organ resounds.

This is a small fraction of what has been happening and resounding at the Łańcut Castle through the festival now organized by the Podkarpackie Philharmonic, which has a tradition of more than half a century. One could say that the location is not only captivating, but also not coincidental. Once upon a time, too, a rich musical life flourished at the Castle in Lancut. In this unique magnate's residence, music resounded as early as the first decades of the 18th century, and the musical tradition became firmly established in the time of Izabela Lubomirska. In the ballroom, which was saturated with classical style, and in the adjacent court theater, concerts and performances were held, during which both household members and invited guests performed. It was here that the famous "Parades" by Jan Potocki was played in 1792.

The Music Festival in Lancut is an extraordinary journey into the world of sounds and musical interpretations, as well as history and art, which you absolutely must go on.
