Rzeszów

In the late 19th/early 20th century many houses were reconstructed and they feature interesting architectural decorations. One should not miss the Rzeszów Cellars Underground Tourist Route which goes down to the level of 10 metres below the surface and is 369 metres long. It includes 34 cellars from the 15th – 20th centuries located at different floors; their names make reference to their function and the town’s history.

The city holds many attractions for tourists. One can visit the churches, such as the town parish church and Bernardine church, as well as museums and galleries. The multimedia fountain is also noteworthy – an eye-catching display of water, music, lasers and light.

The city hosts numerous interesting events, the most notable being the European Stadium of Culture –East of Culture, as well as Urban Space Festival and Rzeszów Carpathia Festival.

At 13, Mickiewicza Street in Rzeszów there is Poland’s only Museum of Bedtime Cartoons with a unique collection of exhibits related to Polish and foreign TV shows for children. In the holdings there are priceless artefacts linked with production of cartoons as well as various gadgets with images of their characters. A visit to the museum is good fun for children and for  adults it will be a nostalgic journey back to their childhood.
