how to get there

This is a classicist building, with some Romantic features, unusual shape and embellishments, including a distinctive rotunda supported on Doric columns. It was located within a landscaped garden with a pond and an island, and featuring numerous trees and flowering shrubs, and large numbers of flower beds designed by Mrs. Morska herself. After 1817, administrative buildings, peasants’ homesteads inspired by a Dutch style of design, and vegetable gardens were built around the residence, based on a design by Mrs. Morska. Zarzecze was intended to be une ferme modèle – a model residence and homestead bringing light to novel ideas. Later the establishment was part of the landed estate of the Dzieduszycki family, and was owned by them until 1944. The property was then acquired by the State Treasury and its buildings were designated to hold a school of agriculture. The palace was restored and regained its former splendour following long-lasting conservation efforts. The palace with the large park ranks among the most impressive aristocratic residences in the region.
