Duke’s castle in Rzemień is a 15th century residential tower with defensive structures
The medieval defensive and residential tower of the Tarnowski family was built in the 14th century on an island among ponds, and was surrounded by ramparts guarding important trading routes. In the early 17th century, the tower belonged to the Lubomirski family. It was extended and secured by modern bastion fortifications with artillery cannons. In 1931, on the occasion of the centenary of the November Uprising, the tower was renovated and a cylindrical tower was added.
