Pilzno is one of the oldest towns in the region. A settlement existing here as early as the eleventh century was owned by Benedictine Monks from Tyniec
The most valuable historical landmark in Pilzno, Church of St. John the Baptist dating from ca. 1256, was reconstructed a few times throughout the centuries. The most notable features inside include the late Gothic figure of Madonna with Baby Jesus (from ca. 1500), the high altar built of white sandstone, a pulpit with a canopy, and the rococo style matroneum.
Another place worth visiting here is the Museum of Dolls, at 24, Grodzka Street. In its workshops you see tools, some of them 200 years old, used for manufacturing doll parts. Visitors can also buy dolls here.
The town retains a characteristic Medieval urban layout, with a large town square (featuring eclectic town hall from the 1700-1800s), and well-retained contours of old defensive walls.

wooden church of St. Bartholomew, from the 15th century, in Łęki Górne near Pilzno,
- Parish Church of St. John the Baptist from the 1300s,
- Carmelite church of St. Catherine and St. Barbara, built in the early 1400s,
- classicist monastery building from 1848,
- houses in the town square from the first half of the 19th century,
- building of Sokół Gymnastic Society from 1907,
- Regional Museum.
