A Unique Tourist Attraction in the Podkarpackie Region

Located in the village of Wola Zarczycka near Nowa Sarzyna, the Kołacznia Nature Reserve is a remarkable tourist attraction in Poland and one of the most unique natural attractions in the Podkarpackie region. Established in 1957, the reserve covers less than 0.1 hectares (10 ares), making it the smallest nature reserve in the country. The flowering period lasts around three weeks, while the sweet, distinctive fragrance of the flowers can be detected from as far as 200 metres away. Although the reserve itself is very small, the surrounding forests provide a habitat for numerous bird and animal species, including roe deer, red deer, wild boar, and foxes. Today, these rafting traditions are still preserved and have been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In Ulanów, visitors can explore the Polish Rafting Museum, learn about the history of the famous rafting masters, and enjoy a cruise aboard a traditional wooden galar boat on the San River.
