In the 19th century, alterations were introduced by Antoni Bauman and Feliks Księżarski who, by adding neo-Gothic elements, as well as cast iron and wooden details, gave the palace an eclectic character. The palace was famous for the rich collections of art and historical artefacts, as well as a large library acquired by Henryk Lubomirski.

An original Italian quartered garden was redesigned in an English style at the beginning of the 19th century, possibly by the Lubomirski family themselves. In its western part it comprised vegetable garden and a gardener’s house, which after the January Uprising was used as a hospital for wounded insurgents. In the park there is a Museum of Firefighting.
