Rzemień

how to get there

In the 1400s first there was a manor house (curia) here, and then a castle (castrum). The building was reconstructed many times. The castle, in a form of a fortified residential tower represents the type of structures frequently erected in the 15th and 16th century. The four story building with massive brick walls (up to 2.2 metres in thickness) has a square floor layout. The structure is supported by foundations made of cut stone and oak beams. Adjoining its western elevation, there is a round tower with a staircase leading to a vestibule with a loggia. The hall upstairs featured stucco decorations representing coats-of-arms.

In the vicinity of the tower there is a 19th century palace of the Szaszkiewicz family, with a park featuring numerous ancient trees.
