Forget the hustle and bustle of the city and hop on your bike! Roztocze is the perfect place for a cycling adventure. Peace and quiet, combined with stunning landscapes. Numerous routes, each offering the opportunity to discover unique places in Roztocze. The cycling trails of Roztocze provide countless possibilities.

ROZTOCZE BY BIKE? THE GREEN VELO EASTERN CYCLING TRAIL

Green Velo Eastern Cycling Trail is one of the longest cycling routes in Poland. It connects five provinces, running from Elbląg through the Podlaskie, Lublin, and Podkarpacie provinces, all the way to Końskie, a city in the Łódzkie provinces.

In the Podkarpacie region, it begins in Roztocze. The first stop on the trail here is the town of Narol. From there, it leads through Horyniec-Zdrój, Budomierz, and Wielkie Oczy, eventually reaching the San River Valley. Along the way, you’ll encounter some of the most important tourist attractions in Roztocze. You'll be captivated by numerous historical landmarks, from the magnificent wooden church in Radruż, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the stunning Palace in Narol and Poniński Palace.

This route also offers plenty of wild nature. It’s worth taking a break at the waterfall in Polanka Horyniecka or the Lime Tree Avenue in Huta Kryształowa, or stopping to explore the South Roztocze Landscape Park. Parts of the trail run through forest roads closed to vehicle traffic, allowing you to fully enjoy the peace, quiet, and fresh air.

CYCLING ROUTES IN ROZTOCZE

While traveling along the Green Velo trail, you’ll have the chance to explore Roztocze by bike. The first major town in the Podkarpacie is Narol, a 16th-century town that attracts nature lovers and cycling enthusiasts. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. There are six cycling routes mapped out in the Narol municipality, each with a different length and marked with its own color: green, red, yellow, blue, orange, and purple. Nearby, two additional trails are available: In the Land of Roztocze Reservoirs and Trial of Nature and Commemorate. Each route offers the chance to marvel at stunning landscapes, breathe in the fresh air of the Sokol Forest, and see landmarks such as Łosiów Palace and the church in Łówcza. During your rides, aside from discovering Roztocze’s key attractions, cyclists can also sample local cuisine. In Ruda Różaniecka, you can enjoy freshly caught fish, a true local delicacy.

Other towns worth a longer stop include Horyniec-Zdrój and Lubaczów. Both municipalities feature four shared cycling routes marked with colors: red, green, yellow, and blue. Additionally, from Lubaczów—a town with a rich history—you can set off on the Border  Cultures Trail. From the Roztocze spa town, you can follow the Border Trail, by the Troops of Ruthenian Settlers or the Brusienka Trail.

Another excellent starting point for cycling trips is the town of Cieszanów. From here, you can choose from four cycling routes, marked with colors as well: brown, red, yellow, and blue. These trails allow you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the region and discover its hidden corners. Among picturesque villages and stunning landscapes, you can experience the authentic charm of Roztocze.
