HOW TO GET THERE

FORMER NOBLE RESIDENCE AS A TOURIST ATTRACTION:

The Sieniawski, Ramsza, Czartoryski, Potocki, and Sapieha families - these are just some of the influential families that held power over this place. Remnants of the palace from the past are associated with its history, blending into the town's landscape and recalling the former glory and wealth of the Sieniawski family. The construction of this majestic mansion was initiated by the Hetman Mikołaj, and its architecture was inspired by the royal residence in Wilanów. The palace interiors exuded richness and splendor, indicating the greatness of the family. Subsequent owners took care to preserve the monument, but fate was not kind to it. World War II brought destruction and the downfall of the residence. To this day, only earth embankments and fragments of underground chambers have survived, which have been secured and transformed into a viewing terrace, becoming a tourist attraction of Roztocze. Next to it, there is a glass display case presenting a model of the palace, allowing us to imagine the former splendor of this place.

In close proximity, there is a small parking lot. Right next to it are also the remnants of a 19th-century park layout. You can relax there, enjoying the peace and quiet.

SACRED LANDMARK IN OLESZYCE

Oleszyce was a town of diverse nationalities. Searching among the attractions of Roztocze for traces of former residents and their cultures, it is worth coming here. In addition to Poles, Germans and Jews also lived here, creating an extraordinary multicultural community. However, little architecture from that period has survived. Even the synagogue did not survive. But we can still see the 18th-century Jewish cemetery and the oldest stone Orthodox church in Roztocze. The temple of St. Onuphrius dates back to the early 19th century. Unfortunately, nothing remains of the original furnishings inside this monument.

Very close to Oleszyce, actually in the neighboring villages of Stare Oleszyce and Borchów, you can see temples located on the Wooden Architecture Route.
