Ruda Różaniecka can certainly be counted among the attractions of Roztocze. Situated amidst three rivers, it owes its existence to the extraction of iron ore here. Remnants of the former industry include numerous water reservoirs, converted into fish ponds

THE EMERGENCE OF RUDA RÓŻANIECKA IN ROZTOCZE

Ruda Różaniecka is certainly one of the interesting places in Roztocze. Equally fascinating are its origins, which date back to the 18th century when the starost of Lubaczów decided to establish a metallurgical plant in this area. It was founded here because there was limonite ore (an iron ore characterized by low iron content) found in the vicinity, particularly along the Różaniec River. There was also an abundance of water and wood necessary to start production. Thus, an industrial settlement emerged, where items such as boilers and mortars were produced. However, by the early 19th century, the resources were depleted, the plant ceased to be profitable, and it was closed down. Today, the only remnant of the former plant is a sawmill.

Another remnant of the local industry is the extensive ponds in the northern part of Ruda Różaniecka. They were formed in the areas where limonite ore was once extracted. They have now become the largest complex of water reservoirs used for fish farming in the Lubaczów County. They enhance the tourist attractiveness of Roztocze, especially in terms of culinary experiences.

REMAINS OF THE FORMER OWNERS OF RUDA RÓŻANIECKA

From the times of the private owners of the village, namely the Brunicki family and later the Wattman family, a palace-park complex has been preserved. The neo-Baroque monument is the second palace built in this location, as the first building did not survive to our times. Surrounding it is an almost 10-hectare landscape park with native trees. After World War II, the property came into the hands of the state, and then it was transferred for the needs of a Social Welfare Home. Therefore, this tourist attraction of Roztocze is not accessible to tourists. However, although it cannot be visited, one can still admire the beauty of the monument from the outside.

CULINARY TOURISM IN ROZTOCZE

For those who wish to indulge in regional cuisine, engage in water tourism, and enjoy relaxation amidst peace and quiet, Dębowy Dwór is the place to be. During winter, the Glamour Restaurant invites guests to enjoy regional delicacies with a modern twist. From spring to autumn, the Tavern under the Lucky Carp awaits on an artificially created island. It's worth noting that the fish served here come from local farms, prioritizing freshness and excellent quality.

Fish farming and processing are also handled by the Smolin Fish farm, which runs the Four Ponds Kitchen Nature Relax bar. Here, visitors can try homemade dishes based on their own fish. Additionally, glamping, a high-standard camping experience, is available.

Both places appeal to culinary tourism enthusiasts. Thus, Ruda Różaniecka can be an excellent base for exploring the surrounding tourist attractions of Roztocze. After a day of admiring the area's landmarks, guests can look forward to delicious cuisine and the opportunity to relax amidst wild nature.
