Tserkov of Archangel Michael (formerly an Orthodox, and then Uniate tserkov, today Roman Catholic church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary) was built in the late 1700s
Being the only one in the Bieszczady, and one of only three preserved in Poland, the church represents archaic style of construction used by Bojko ethnic group. Next to the tserkov standing amidst old trees, there is a cemetery. Inside the tserkov the only preserved original decorations include part of an 18th century wall painting depicting a curtain supported by angels, as well as empty cartouches. Icons from the tserkov in Smolnik can be seen in the Museum of Ukrainian Art in Lviv and in the Łańcut museum. The tserkov is located along the Podkarpackie Wooden Architecture Route. In 2013 it received the status of UNESCO Heritage Site.
