CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER - "PASTORÓWKA" IN PODLESIE
Podlesie 5
37-621 Podlesie
The village of Podlesie in the Lubaczów district was formerly known as Reichau. When German settlers arrived in these lands as a result of Josephine colonization, the village of Podlesie began to flourish. With the increase in population, there arose a need to build a prayer house, which served as the center of the community's religious life. It was established in 1856 and today serves as a Roman Catholic church. Adjacent to it was the rectory, where the pastor lived with his family. "Pastorówka," as the building is called today, along with the local evangelical cemetery, are some of the few remnants of the German settlers in this area. They stand as evidence of the former multiculturalism of society.
In 2011, the building underwent renovation, reclaiming its former appearance. Currently, it houses the Cultural and Educational Center "Pastorówka." It's a space created for international cooperation, which the Lubaczów municipality engages in with Ukrainian, Hungarian, and Slovakian local governments.
