From the hills surrounding the town there is a view towards the San Valley, the Słonne Mountains Landscape Park and to Mounts Smerek and Połonina Wetlińska. Lesko is the tourist centre of the Bieszczady

Lesko

how to get there

During your visit here you should see the castle of the Kmita family built in the 16th century on a high cliff overlooking the San River. On the one hand the building resembles a medieval fortress and on the other it looks like a Renaissance residence. Today the castle holds a hotel. It is surrounded with a large park in which, among other features, you can see the municipal amphitheatre.

Another highlight here is the church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1530. The church, built of stone, has a layout based on the shape of Latin cross. Next to the church there is a late Baroque belfry.

In Lesko there is one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Poland from the late 16th/early 17th century with well-preserved matzevahs.
