WHAT LANDSCAPES DOES THE OBSERVATION TOWER IN DESZNICA OFFER
The scenic tower in Desznica is an ideal choice for all admirers of beautiful panoramas. This impressive structure, crafted from a combination of steel and wood, was built in 2023 to provide exceptional views. It undoubtedly delights with views of the highest peaks of the surrounding ranges visible on the horizon. Here, one can spot the highest peaks of the Strzyżowskie Foothills – Bardo, the Dynowskie Foothills – Sucha Góra, and the Ciężkowickie Foothills – Liwocz. Under favorable conditions, the Stebnícka Magura, the highest peak of the Ondavské Highlands in Slovakia, is also clearly visible for observation.
TRIP TO THE VIEWING TOWER IN LOW BESKID NISKI
The site includes dedicated parking in the village of Jaworze (location of parking). It's not extensive, so finding space may be challenging on good weather days. Hence, an early morning visit is advisable. Close to the parking area are remnants of the early medieval Walik hillfort, dating back to the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries. From here, following an unmarked dirt road, head toward the highly visible tower. This one-kilometer stretch is undemanding and takes approximately 15 minutes.
A LONGER WALK IN LOW BESKID NISKI
To extend your hike, consider leaving your vehicle at the church parking lot in Desznica (location of parking). If this is your starting point, proceed towards the main road, turn right, and walk for 50 meters. Then, take the side road on the right-hand side. This approximately one-kilometer stretch will take about 35 minutes. Opting for this walking route, take note of the nearby Military Cemetery adjacent to the Church of the Immaculate Virgin Mary.
