For a breathtaking panorama, it's worth ascending to the top of the 35-meter viewing tower
WHAT LANDSCAPES DOES BIESZCZADY ATTRACTION OFFER
The tower stands atop Holica, reaching a height of 761 meters above sea level. It's a summit within the Żukowa mountain range, part of the Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains. It has also been included in the The Crown of Ustrzyki Mountains Trail. At this exceptional site, two observation decks await, fulfilling the expectations of all mountain panorama enthusiasts. The lower platform, positioned 17 meters above ground, and the second one at a height of 30 meters, offer spectacular views of the Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains, Ustrzyki Dolne, and the surrounding hills, along with the picturesque Bieszczady. Prominent peaks such as Tarnica, Bukowe Berdo, and Smerek are visible.
However, if for various reasons, accessing the tower isn't possible, fear not! A panoramic view unfolds northward from the vicinity of the structure.
Near the tower, a special tourist shelter has been prepared along with a place for bonfires. Educational boards aimed at the youngest tourists have been set up, providing them not only with great fun but also knowledge about the area.
HOW TO GET TO THIS ATTRACTION IN BIESZCZADY
To reach the tower, depending on abilities and fitness, one can choose the suitable route. The shortest trail starts from Ustjanowa Górna. It's a designated green trail called “Na stokach Żukowa” (“On the slopes of the Żuków”). Covering around two kilometers through the forest, this route takes approximately 1 hour due to several steep inclines.
Alternatively, the most convenient route to reach the tower is from the forest parking lot near the Ustjanowa Dolna - Łobozew Dolny road (location of parking). From here, take an unmarked trail southeastward. This 4-kilometer stretch follows a hardened road, taking around one and a half hours to traverse.
The last suggestion is for more ambitious hikers fond of longer excursions. Starting from the center of Ustrzyki Dolne, follow the blue trail to Zawał and then continue with the green trail. This route takes about three hours, covering 10 kilometers with an ascent of 500 meters. Shortening the same route by four kilometers, the trek should commence from Równia.
